Leith Walk Primary School

9 Brunswick Rd, Edinburgh EH7 5NG, UK – 0131 556 3873

I'm sure if I was a child, this would be a fantastic school to attend. However, not being a child, I have no clue. Based on other reviews on here I give it 4/5. Keep up the good work

Awesome school and teachers, my son loved his primary school years here.

Cameron House Nursery School

Suffolk House Nursery Day Care

10 Craigmillar Park, Edinburgh EH16 5NE, UK – 0131 667 0778

From the minute you enter the bright, modern and spacious reception area, you feel like this is somewhere that encourages learning, and has been designed and purpose-built to support that. No pokey dark corridors or dodgy conversions, all the rooms are well equipped (with all the essentials neatly packed away out of little ones' reach!) leaving the floorspace free for play. A range of stimulating activities, their own soft play room, plus huge garden area (a real premium in the city centre). The online learning journal means grandparents can login and see our child develop, even from 300+ miles away. They have amazingly varied hot meals so she only ever needs a light tea before bed - perfect for working parents. They are attentive to her every need, notice when she is under the weather, have supported her through many key learning and development stages and keep setting new goals for the staff to work towards with her. I would thoroughly recommend both the building and the staff.

It was a great choice to have an English course in this school. I can appreciate the way of teaching English, excellent teachers and lovely family atmosphere. This course has given me a new energy to focus on studying English. Thanks to Niki, Lindsey and to all other teachers.

It was a beautiful time and I learned a lot. I felt very welcome and I would definitely come back one time. All the teachers are extremely friendly and helpful and I can say: my English improved during this two wonderful weeks. Thanks a lot for everything! And a very big thanks to my both lovely teachers :)

Edinburgh Dance School

Inch Park Community Sports Club, 227 Gilmerton Rd, Edinburgh EH17 8DU, UK – 07703 483809

I love the classes offered by Edinburgh dance school! I first approached Felicity at wedding show 7 years ago. Her friendly, professional and bubbly down to earth personality won us over straight away! From then on we went to group ballroom classes for the more novice dancers and then booked private one to one dance classes to learn a personalised routine for our wedding dance. I now have a girl that has just turned 2 1/2 years old and I have started her in twinkle stars ballet which she loves. The class is just the right length of time to hold her attention and the teachers are amazing at keeping their attention.

Language Schools

Global School Of English

Wemyss House, 45 Frederick St, Edinburgh EH2 1EP, UK – 0131 226 2333

I really loved taking an English course here. Amazing teachers and staff. I really saw how my English improved in just 4 weeks. As I said, the teachers are really amazing, very helpful, friendly and hard-working people. I really felt at home during my stay. Classes are big, spacious, not very crowded and in a really nice place, really central. The accommodation provided by the school was also really good, well located, nice, friendly family... Edinburgh itself is truly amazing, so you won't be disappointed if you go there to study or live. I would highly recommend attending this school

A very good school with cool teachers.

ELA-Edinburgh

71 George St, Edinburgh EH2 3EE, UK – 0131 226 6182

The teachers and staff were all so friendly, welcoming and supportive. I instantly felt comfortable and happy to work in the environment. Would recommend it to anyone!

I love this littl Capital. The location of the school right in the center and everything within walking/cycling distance. Excellent bus connections bring you in a short time in the middle of nature. A day can be so varied between English lessons, cultural experiences and a hike, for example in the "Flotterstones" (see photos) and a concert and an Indian dinner. in the evening. On small territory in and outside the school you will meet many lovly and helpful people in all circumstances. Book short trips for the weekend at school - you will not regret it. The time was not enough for the Highlands - one of the reasons to come back. Ingeborg

MagiKats Maths and English Tutoring

123 Leith Walk, Edinburgh EH6 8NP, UK – 0131 554 5595

Excellent professional tuition and guidance. The staff at MagiKats Blackhall were kind, always friendly and superb whilst working with my daughter to bring her up to speed on Maths and English. My case was different in that I needed an acceleration programme designed for my daughter who due to relocation, was going from the Scottish education system to the English system which is technically 1 year ahead. Ifti was very helpful in designing a programme just for my little one and gave her lots of support and encouragement which in turned gave my daughter tremendous confidence to get through the challenging work. Their method worked and my daughter is beyond ready for her next steps jumping a whole grade. (As a parent, I especially liked the daily homework work sheets that was given as this simply reinforced her weekend extra lessons learning at MagiKats). Thank you Ifti & team for the excellent service given.

Magikats is a good tuition centre, this is because it has a good atmosphere and also it has good tutors that support you if you need help on a certain topics especially for Maths and English.

Kip McGrath Tuition Centre, Edinbugh Marchmont

125 Marchmont Rd, Edinburgh EH9 1HA, UK – 0131 610 6110

My son was in S3 studying for Nat 5 when he fell behind in maths due to different extracurricular commitments. Excellent tutors at Kip McGarth have helped him catch up but also further improve understanding of the topics that he thought he knew well! This improvement was reflected in his test results. He so enjoys the lessons that he continues to go over the holidays! The atmosphere is very friendly but encouraging and the staff is kind and helpful.

Our boys (P6) have made an incredible progress since they started lessons (both English and Math) at Kip McGrath six months ago. One of them has moved from the bottom group in math to the top group within six weeks of attendance. His has become much more confident and has flourished in other subjects as a result. The other son, who was already good in math but clearly unchallenged in school (found his school math extremely boring) is now doing S2 math (confidently). The best thing of all is that they cannot wait for their next lesson at Kip - they are motivated and enthusiastic about learning. As parents, we could not have asked for more. Thank you Indy!
